In my opinion, the abstract name-like design also resembles Arabic calligraphy and the color pink for love, and green for a more peaceful colour. Overall, the aim of this picture is to portray peace, love, and being a visible minority.

    Additional Information

As an astronaut looks down on the Earth from space, they note its small scale compared to the vastness that surrounds them. As a scientist looks through a microscope at DNA, they note its double-helix shape holding the genetic blueprint for all living things on Earth. Both the Earth and DNA, hold the secrets to our past and future. With all going on in the world – the climate crisis, inequality, violence – let this artwork be a reminder of what every living thing on this planet shares, a blueprint for life pivotal to our development, connecting us and revealing our similarities.

    Additional Information:

The outer part represents an open-mouth smile which is also enhanced by the hand covering the mouth. The tape is “holding” together the smile, and the grounded coffee bits are within the smile next to an abstract brain with brain circuits influenced by the coffee ingested.

(The open mouth smile is supposed to represent joy.)

Impact of coffee drinking = decreased risk of suicide in adults.

    ARTS-BASED PROGRAM

    • "I wish to dedicate this mandala to peace. For the innumerable lives lost in the war in Ukraine and the crisis in Iran. My heart goes out to our friends here in Canada from these countries and their families."

    DIVERSITY & HARMONY

Designed & Created by Janaki Raghavan

This is an artwork symbolizing peace, unity, diversity, and hope. Mandala art is usually drawn having a vision of something that one meditates upon and wishes to manifest. I drew this for peace and unity in times of uncertainty.
